Rose M. Consiglio Szczesniak Rose M. Szczesniak, 92, of Rome, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Healthcare Facility. She was born in Lawrence, Mass. on June 7, 1917, daughter of the late Joseph and Carmela Griffo Consiglio. On September 9, 1947, she married Andrew "Hank" L. Szczesniak in Rome. He passed away February 6, 1996. Rose was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and Ava Dorfman Senior Citizen Center. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Bernard and Jacqueline Szczesniak, Rome; three daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Joseph Luciano, Colorado Springs, Colo., Bernadette and John Freebern, Syracuse, Rosemarie and Paul Green, Concord, N.C.; six grandchildren, Jason and his wife Tina Szczesniak, Joseph Luciano, Genelle Riggleman and significant other, Shane Andrews, R.J. Riggleman; Paul Green of Rome; and Jennifer Green, Alamogordo, N.M.; four great grandchildren, Sabrina and Marissa Verdgeline, Jianna Szczesniak and Kaygen Andrews. Also surviving are a brother and sisters-in-law, Joseph Jr. and Virginia Consiglio, of Rome; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Jenny Kenny, Dolores and William Williams, all of Rome, and Florence Weber, New Jersey; sisters-in-law, Marge Consiglio and Shirley; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers and sisters-in-law, Angelo Consiglio, Anthony "Bucky" and Rose Consiglio, Mike and Esther Consiglio, and Danny Consiglio; a brother-in-law, Dick Kenny; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Felicia and Angelo Pirillo and Lucy and Joe Kaczmarski. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Staff at Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Health Care Facility, for the care and compassion shown to Rose. Funeral services will be held on Monday at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Healthcare Facility, 1500 North James St., Rome, N.Y. 13440
