Obituary of Edward E Corcoran

Edward E. Corcoran, 79, of Vernon, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 17, 2023.  He was born on July 3, 1943, son of the late Catherine A. Walters and Spencer A. Corcoran, mothered and raised by Mary B. Lindroth, all pre-deceased.  Edward graduated from Vernon Verona Sherrill Central School 1962. He worked at Oneida Ltd. For 40 plus years and retired in 2006.  Edward enjoyed hunting at his special place, and he also enjoyed frequenting Nothin’ Fancy Café in Vernon, on a daily basis. 

Edward is survived by his four children; two daughters, Cindy and companion Dennis Boger, of Charlotte, N.C., and Robin and son-in-law James Zakala, of Rome, and two sons, Joseph Corcoran of Rome, and Scott Corcoran of Sherrill, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew.  He was predeceased by his two brothers, Francis and Eugene Corcoran, and three nephews, Patrick, Timothy and John Corcoran.

Funeral services will be held at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, on Friday June 23, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery.
