Michael P. Archer, Sr., 67, of Rome, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 after a brief illness.  He was born in Rome, NY, on April 9, 1956, son of the late Ned and Leona (Coonrod) Archer.  Michael was the beloved husband of Ranee D. (Cosimeno) Archer, a union of forty eight years.

After attending Rome Schools, Mike was a mechanic, worked construction and he especially enjoyed working with his son and spending time in his dump truck.  He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.  Mike loved car racing at the local tracks along with watching NASCAR racing. 

Surviving besides his wife Ranee, are four children; Rachael (Jason) Shafer, Nicole Archer (Michael Fornino), Melanie (Michael) Thomas and Michael Archer, Jr., ( Karlie Neiss), five grandchildren; Jason, Alyza, Adyson, Michaela  and Ashton along with Karlie’s three children; Lex, Novaline, and Corban.  Also surviving are two brothers; Ned Archer and Gary (Mandy) Archer, three sisters; Paula (Ed) Sherman, Deborah Archer, Pamela (Harvey) Hawkins and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, Ned and Leona Archer. 

Services will be private.  There are no calling hours.

Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, NY.
