Betty Jane Goodrich, 83, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Victor, NY. She was born in Rome, NY, on July 1, 1940, daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Carro Rossi. Betty attended Rome Schools. On June 3, 1961 she was united in marriage to Charles J. Goodrich in St. John the Baptist Church, a union that lasted for 42 years. He passed away August 31, 2003.
When Betty wasn’t crocheting and watching Highway to Heaven or In the Heat of the Night, two of her favorite shows, she could be found cheering on the Buffalo Bills (Josh Allen was her favorite player) and the fighting Irish of Notre Dame. An avid Yankees fan, since she was just a little girl, she was sure the Yankees would always win. Family and friends were the center of Betty’s life. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whether it be in person or talking on the phone to catch up. She also loved to cook and bake when she had the chance. You didn’t go to Betty’s house without leaving with more food than you could ever eat. Betty absolutely loved Saturdays at Utopia Salon. Spending the morning well into the afternoon was a regular occurrence. She always looked forward to seeing Carolyn, Rose and all her salon pals. It was the highlight of her week. Betty was blessed with a family that loved her dearly. She also had so many special people in her life that were always there for her including, best friends Karen and Marilyn, Shelly and Ray, Ruby, Josephine and her friends at CRM.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Kevin Sweeney, Victor, NY, a son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Tammy (Boehlert) Goodrich, Rome, four grandchildren: Gene Goodrich (Carmen), Ashley Goodrich (Jeremy), Heather Pacicca (Justin) and Brenna Kristiansen (Andrew), four great grandchildren: Jordan Brockway, Olivia Goodrich, Aiden and Charlotte Pacicca.
