Phyllis A. Gillette
Phyllis A Gillette , 72, of Rome, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare Center, New Hartford, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Rome, NY on August 23, 1937 daughter of Michael F. and Frances M Wikiera.Wojdyla. Phyllis graduated from Rome Free Academy class of 1955. On May 18,1957, she was united in marriage to. Joseph J. Gillette in Transfiguration Church.
Phyllis faithfully donated to charities,and missionaries of all types.
Surviving besides her husband,Joseph, are her mother, Frances Wojdyla, two daughters and a son-in-law, Lynette Garlinghouse, Catherine and Christopher Colgan, all of Rome; four grandchildren, Kelly Garlinghouse and Matthew Garlinghouse, both of Rome, Ryan Colgan, Conn. And Dustin Colgan,Rome; and a great grandson, Edward Joseph. Also surviving are a sister, Dorothy J. Rundell, Rome; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Barbara Wojdyla, Ariz., William and Beverly Wojdyla, Verona an aunt,Stella J. Wilkes, Rome; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father,Michael F. Wojdyla.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the doctors and staff at Faxton- St. Lukes Healthcare Center for the excellent care and a special thank you to Dr. Razia and the staff at Slocum-Dixon.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 2:00pm at St.Mary's Church where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 587 Main St., New York Mills, N.Y. 13417
