Jan R. Amici (O’Brien)

1948 - 2024

Jan R. Amici (O'Brien), 75, of Westmoreland, N.Y., passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on April 1, 1948, daughter of the late John and Wilma (Swarthout) O'Brien. Jan and Russell Amici were high school sweethearts, together for 59 years, and united in marriage with her lifelong love in 1968. 

Jan enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always went above and beyond, putting everyone else before herself. Jan had a lot of hobbies, but she found her enjoyment in flower gardening, creating her fairy gardens, crafting, reading, and decorating for the holidays. Christmas time was her favorite, where she always made wonderful memories for her family to cherish. 

Surviving, besides her husband Russell, are two daughters, Katrine (Amici) and Neal Hawkins of Rome, Krista (Amici) Kaskiw and partner Michael Badolato of Rome, and a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Holly Amici of Rome; a sister, Lynn Martin of North Carolina; two brothers, Tom O'Brien, and Steve O'Brien of New York; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Patricia (Pat) Drew, and four brothers, Clifford O'Brien, John O'Brien, Bruce O'Brien and David O'Brien.
