Peter J. Messineo

1975 – 2024

Peter J. Messineo, 48, of Rome, passed away on Monday January 15, 2024, at home. He was born in Rome, N.Y. on November 1, 1975, son of Christopher and Patricia Perry Messineo. Peter was educated in Rome schools and graduated from Rome Free Academy, class of 1994. On July 18, 2015, he was united in marriage to Kristy Dufresne in Rome. Peter was previously employed by Upstate Cerebral Palsy in Utica, N.Y. as a DSP. Peter was a loving, caring son and father, who enjoyed spending time with his two sons.

Surviving besides his wife Kristy, are his parents, Christopher and Patricia Messineo, two sons, Zackary and Jaxon Messineo, a sister, Jill Messineo, in-laws, Michele and Mike Stone, several aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as his wife’s grandparents, Lillian and John Kress, his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Charles and Lena Messineo, and James and Florence Perry, Aunts and Uncles, Sue and William Schuster, Mary Jane and Michael De Palma, and William Perry, Godfather, William Schuster III, and cousins, Mark Schuster and Erin Burke.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 20, 2024, at 11:00am at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m, prior to the service.
