Patricia Smith Gimelli Pellegrino

1939 – 2024

Patricia K. Pellegrino, 84, of Utica, passed away on Thursday April 04, 2024, at Sitrin Health Care Center in New Hartford. She was born in Utica, N.Y. on November 15, 1939, daughter of the late Laney and Margaret Saunders Smith. Patricia attended Winterboro High School in Talladega, Alabama. In 1974, she married Alfred Gimelli, who passed away on January 13, 1998. She later married Donald Pellegrino. Patricia was employed by General Electric in Utica, working in Accounts Payable.

Patricia was always kind and thoughtful to everyone she came in contact with. She loved to cook, bake, and sew in her spare time. Patricia loved spending time with her family and to her, family was everything.

Surviving are her brother, Laney (Antoinette) Smith, sister, Jacquelyn Smith, sister-in-law, Joan Kimball, and brother-in-law, Anthony J. Dispirito.

Patricia also leaves behind nieces and nephews; Jessica (Doug) Radcliffe, Katie Smith, Alex Kopel, Sonya (Jeff) Parks, Michael Keith (Cenda) Smith, Michael (Debbie) Dispirito, Debbie (Bruce) Messenger, Susan (Frank) Grossi, Jay (Denise) Dispirito, Gary (Debbie) Kimball, Diane Jones, and Jesse (Patty) Kimball. She also leaves behind cousins; Mary (Steve) Walters, Tom Gates, Julie (Paul) Humphrey, Kathy Gates, Ann Marie (Shawn) Casler, Bruce Wengert, Judy Springer, Jerry Wengert, Fred (Renee) Zimmerman, Kathy Zimmerman Williams, and David (Riza) Zimmerman, and several other cousins of the Rizzo family. Patricia also leaves behind a family member, Chris (Jack) Howard, and several friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Laney and Margaret Smith, a sister, Barbara Dispirito, three brothers; Curtis (Margaret) Smith, Larry Smith, and David Smith, cousins; Marilyn (Mel) Gates, Erla Zimmerman, and Jon Zimmerman, as well as many aunts and uncles of the Smith family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday April 20, 2024, at 11:00am, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 66 Oxford Rd., New Hartford, N.Y., with Msgr. James Lang officiating, where relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no calling hours. Private Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
