LuAnn “Lu” Cheri 

1964 - 2024

LuAnn “Lu” Cheri, 59, of Rome, passed away on June 6th, 2024. She was born in Rome, NY on September 21, 1964. LuAnn graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1982. LuAnn worked at many places over the years, especially Acchino’s Auto Body and Rome Savings Bank. LuAnn was an avid bowler and bocce player. In 1989 and 2004 her team won the World Series of Bocce. 

Surviving are two daughters: Giana and Aryanna Cheri, a sister CarolAnn (Michael) Sweet, and niece and nephews Chris (Jennifer) Sweet, Amie (Ryan) Fleming, Josh (Katie) Sweet. There’s a special remembrance for her canine companion, Bear. She was predeceased by her mother Vicki Ortolano.

Funeral Services are private. There are no calling hours.
