Patricia A. Smith 94, of Rome, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Bethany Gardens Skilled Living Center. She was born in Rome, NY, on June 19, 1930, daughter of the late Michael and Myrtle Burns Rossi. Pat was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On June 24, 1950, she married the late Howard “Dutch” N. Smith, in St. Mary’s Church. He passed away on November 1, 2019. Pat worked as a retail clerk at the former Rosen’s Men’s Wear, in downtown Rome. She was an avid golfer and a member of the original Beaver Brook Golf Course as well as Rome Country Club. Pat loved Bingo and enjoyed trips to the Turning Stone Casino to play.

Surviving is a son, Michael J. (Peggy) Smith; two daughters, Christine M. (James) Malone, and Linda A. Smith; one grandchild, Colin Smith (Josie), all of Rome, sister-in-law, Doris Smith, Oneonta, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Debra M. Smith, who passed away in 2012, a son Howard N. Smith, Jr, who passed away in 2018; her parents, Michael and Myrtle Rossi, and a brother, Michael Rossi.

Services will be private. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
