Cynthia A. DeProspero Outwater
1956 – 2024
Cynthia A. Outwater, 68, of Rome, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024. She was born in Rome, NY, on September 25, 1956, daughter of the late Dominick and Rose Mesagna DeProspero. Cynthia graduated from Rome Free Academy Class of 1974 and BOCES as a LPN. She retired as an LPN from Nassau County Medical Center, East Meadow, NY. On May 19, 2012 she married Brenda Outwater in Zion Episcopal Church.
Cynthia received in 2001 Disability Recognition from Mohawk Valley Community College, in 2003 Graduated with a degree in Chemical Dependency Practitioner and Human (Applied) Science Caseworker. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Society and International Scholastic Order of the Two Year College. Cynthia was a member of Zion Episcopal Church and for several years volunteered at the Rome Rescue Mission. Cynthia was a recipient of the Women of Distinction of Mohawk Valley award through Marianne Buttenschon’s office.
Surviving is her wife, Brenda, a brother, Richard (Carrie) DeProspero, Rome; a sister-in-law, Theresa DeProspero, North Syracuse; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special cousins; Colleen and Simon Koenig and Lucille Cook. Cynthia is also survived by special friends; Bill W., Dr. Bob, Robin Smith, Tammy Austin and Shelley Land. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Bob DeProspero.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at the Zion Episcopal Church, 140 W. Liberty St., Rome, NY. The family will receive friends at church from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Anyone wishing to attend services is invited to dress in a tie-dye, NY. Mets or Tampa Bay Buccaneers apparel.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Cynthia’s name to: Zion Episcopal Church, 140 W. Liberty St., Rome, NY 13440.
