Marybeth Schuler, 68, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Rome Health. She was born in Rome, NY, on December 9, 1955, daughter of the late John and Nan Petrie Pereto. Marybeth dedicated her life to helping and caring for others in the field of healthcare for 42 years at Bethany Gardens. She was a light of hope to all who crossed her path. Her gentle touch and unwavering dedication brought solace to countless lives. Marybeth enjoyed family time on Fourth Lake and laughing it up with friends. Her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.

Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Timothy Hogan, and life-partner, Howard Scheible, all of Rome, and two nephews, Daniel and Derrick (Whitney and her daughter, Leilani) Hogan. Also surviving is an aunt, Delores Orians, Rochester and several cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Emergency Department and ICU staff at Rome Health for all their compassion and dedication in caring for Marybeth.

Funeral services will be held, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Road, Rome, NY 13440 at 6:00 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m., prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marybeth’s name may be made to the VFW Auxiliary Post 2246, 315 N. Washington Street, Rome, NY 13440.
