Obituary of Jo Ann Madonia
Jo Ann (Coady) Madonia
1966 - 2024
Jo Ann (Coady) Madonia, 58, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024. She was born in Oneida, NY on May 24, 1966, to Ronald and Louise Wanner Coady and grew up in Camden, NY. Jo had medical issues since she was 12 years old, but she lived life enthusiastically and charted her own path. She graduated from Camden Central School with high honors and went on to college at Suny Cortland. Jo then chose a career in Recreational Therapy for the elderly and disabled. On Sept 13, 2002, she married Dominick R. Madonia in Rome, NY. Jo retired early from her career with NYS DDSO due to health issues but made energy for the things that she loved; line dancing, craft shows, going with her mother to garage sales and seeing friends and family for Sunday dinners. She also had a green thumb and produced beautiful plants and flowers both inside and out. Her son Cody was her pride and joy, and she made sure that the door was always open for his friends.
Jo leaves behind, her son Cody, at home and attending college, her mother, Louise Coady, of Rome, NY, her sister Bonnie (Troy) Youngs, Canton, GA, a brother, Todd (Terry) Coady, of Blossvale, NY, Brother-in-law Anthony (Anne Marie) Madonia, of Syracuse, NY, an Aunt and Uncle, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews as well as special friends; Jay and Ann Lieb, Dominick and Marianne Grasso and Roy and Sharon Scoville. She was predeceased by her father, Ronald Coady on March 30, 2023, and her husband Dominick Madonia, on December 4, 2023.
The family extends a thank you to everyone who assisted Jo Ann with special thanks to Dr. Camille Dillard, Rome, NY.
