Obituary of Becky A. Dombroski
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Becky Ann Dombroski, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and great-grandmother, who passed away with her family by her side on January 9, 2025, at the age of 78.
Becky will be remembered for her positive approach to life, unwavering kindness, infectious laughter, and the warmth she brought into every room she entered. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good game with friends and family. Becky avidly enjoyed the sunshine on her face, and took joy in giving and receiving gifts.
Becky was dedicated to her family and offered a listening ear, sound advice and a comforting embrace – traits her children will miss most. She was incredibly proud of her children and loved to talk about them at length. Becky’s love of dogs was passed down to her children and grandchildren. She also loved nature, and her adventurous spirit took her everywhere from the Grand Canyon to the ocean to a cabin in the woods, where she graciously won at Rummy nearly every time.
A passionate member of her church, Becky’s faith was foundational to her life and was a source of inspiration to those around her. She took immense joy in the dear friends she made over the years. She took on many roles including pianist, deacon, board member, and Bible study leader. Becky enjoyed live performances and was a member of the Mohawk Valley Choral Society, where she particularly enjoyed singing Handel’s “Messiah”.
Becky is predeceased by her husband of thirty years Joe Dombroski. She is survived by her children: Mark Shorey (Tracy), Marion Shorey (Matthew Fultz), Marie Coar (John), and Vicki Cross (Bob); her former spouse Bernard Shorey; her stepdaughter LinnaJo Dombroski; her grandchildren: Sierra, Nathaniel, Sarah, Katherine, and Jonathan; her step grandchildren: Christina, Curtis and Kimberly; her two beloved great grandsons Miles and Elliot, whose giggles held a special place in her heart; and her good friend Barbara Shupe.
Becky’s legacy of unrelenting love, kindness, generosity, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
