Catherine M. Patane Catherine M. Patane, 88, of Rome, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2010 at Rome Memorial Hospital with her daughters by her side. She was born in Mayfield, Pa., on April 10, 1922, daughter of the late Clement and Palma Calandra. On June 28, 1947, she married Joseph Patane in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away June 18, 2006. Catherine retired as a chef from Griffiss Air Force Base and was a former employee of the Polish Home. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Catherine was a member of several bowling leagues and was an avid Bingo player. Surviving are three daughters and a son-in-law, Rosemary and Gary Cottrell, Fayetteville, N.Y., Patricia A. Bravo, Utica, and Donna M. Queen, Rome; ten grandchildren, Rebecca, April, Philip, Jaime, Paulette, Angelo, Ronda, Suguar, Roy and Tesla; and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Patsy Calandra, Rome; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Vincent Bravo, two brothers, Jack Calandra and Frank Calandra, and five sisters, her twin Angeline Campanaro, Antoinette Colosimo, Sadie Rossi, Frances Cingranelli and Mary. The family would like to express a special thank you to all the staff at Rome Memorial Hospital for their love and care during a trying time. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, N.Y. 13204.
