Obituary of Maria Gulli Sestito

Maria Gulli Sestito Maria Gulli Sestito, 101, a resident of Rome Nursing Home for the past four months, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the nursing home. She was born in Chiaravalle, Province of Catanzaro, Italy on March 13, 1909, daughter of Antonio and Chiara Donato Gulli. In 1936, she married Vitalino Sestito in Italy. He passed away in 1990. Maria was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Liberata "Libby" Iozzo, Rome; a son and daughter-in-law, Antonio and Anna Sestito, Italy; a daughter-in-law, Mary Sestito, Buffalo; five grandchildren, Anna Spence, Atlanta, Ga., Anthony Iozzo, Syracuse, Michelle Sestito Moore and Larry Sestito, both of Buffalo, and Vitalino "Nini" Sestito, Italy; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Larry Sestito, who passed away in 2003, a son-in-law, Frank "Ciccio" Iozzo, who passed away in 2009, and four sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., on Thursday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.
