Patricia Ann Milano Patricia Ann Milano, 64, of Rome, passed into the hands of our Lord at the Katherine-Luther Home, Clinton, Sunday morning May 9, 2010, with her loving family by her side. She was born March 27, 1946 in Rome, NY, the daughter of the late Gasper and Emily Parsons Sherry Milano. She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1964. Patty graduated as a registered nurse from Albany Medical Center in 1967. She loved children and worked as an RN at the Shriner's Hospital Burn Unit in Boston, Mass. Patty was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Church. Patty became interested in nursing and helping others as a candy striper in her junior and senior year at RFA. She was a dedicated NY Yankees fan. Patty loved going to Sylvan and Verona Beaches with her family in the summertime when she was young. At the age of twenty-three, she was in a one-car tragic accident that changed her life. Surviving are a brother and sisters-in-law, Robert and Teresa Sherry, Herkimer, NY, Margaret Sherry, Rome, NY; nieces and nephews, Linda and husband Jerry Hitchcock, Rome, NY, Beth and husband Sal Frank, Rome, NY, Joe Sherry, Tucson, Ariz., Dana and husband John Swierkos, Rochester, NY, Kristin and husband Robert Miller, Orchard Park, NY, Scott and wife Kara Sherry, Lewis Center, Ohio; great nieces and nephews, Alan, Heather, Danielle and Jerrianne Hitchcock, all of Rome, NY, Amy and husband Matt Hanna, Eric Frank, Christine Frank, all of Florida, John and wife Celeste Sherry, Texas, Crystal and husband Grady Turner, Virginia, Alexandria and Wesley Miller, Orchard Park, NY, Hayden, and Samuel and Carleigh Sherry, Lewis Center, Ohio. Also surviving are great-great nieces and nephews, Zoie Anne Smith, Rome, NY, Jayden Jo Sherry, Texas, and Craig Anthony Miles, Rome, NY; three aunts, Josephine, Anna, Margie and nineteen cousins; special friends, Salvation Army Majors Darlene and Ed Russell and their families, the Russells and Christmans. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph P. Sherry; two uncles, Salvatore and Patrick Milano; three aunts, Mary DiAcunto, Helen and Adeline; and five cousins. Patty's family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Saul Unit, of the Katherine-Luther Home, where she resided for the last eighteen years, for their loving care and the bonds which they created. A special thank you to Patty's "Southern girl," Cheri, and Pastor Brian. The family would also like to thank the nurses of the EverCare Program for their care and compassion shown to Patty. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family of Patricia would like you to consider a donation to the American Cancer Society, Chiari & Syringomyelia Foundation, or the Shriner's Hospital of Boston, Mass.
