Obituary of Vito P. Salvaggio

Vito P. Salvaggio Vito P. Salvaggio, 82, of Rome, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born Rome, N.Y. on February 16, 1928, son of the late Frank and Angeline Saldato Salvaggio. Vito married the former Frances Madonia in 1949. He retired from Revere Copper and Brass. Vito was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and was an avid gardener. Surviving are a daughter, Marie Clay, Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Frank A. Salvaggio, Rome; two granddaughters, Laurie Clay and her fiance Michael Harris, Virginia Beach, Va. and Kelly and her husband Scott Fox, Rome; three great grandchildren, Desmond Clay, Felecia Fox and Michael Harris Jr. Also surviving are five sisters, Angeline Wickham, Rome, Phyllis Siefert and Frances Smith, both of Oneida, Anna Marie Parisi, Rome, Josephine Halbeison, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Tony and Frank Salvaggio, and a sister, Leona Wagner. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
