Anne M. Gregory, 87, of Rome, passed away November 2, 2008 at Faxton Acute Rehabilitation Center, Utica. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on January 20, 1921, daughter of the late Gaetano and Nellie Iorio LaGatta. Anne graduated from the Academy of Holy Names, Class of 1939. On January 17, 1953, she married Richard J. Gregory Sr. in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away August 1, 1994. Anne leaves a legacy of love, commitment and caring to her family. She was a devoted and loving Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her love for the Lord was faithful and unwavering. She was devoted to Christ, her family and those in need. Surviving are a loving son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Ann Marie Gregory, Rome; a loving daughter and son-in-law, Nina and Rudy Scott, Johnson City, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Ryann Ashlie and husband, Michael Walls, Johnson City, Tenn.; Aaron G. and wife, Kandra Scott, Gray, Tenn.; Aaron Richard Gregory and Kaysie Marie Gregory, both of Rome; two great grandchildren, Jaden Scott and Levi Walls; a sister, Genevieve DiBari, Rome; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Richard J. Gregory Jr., who passed away March 19, 1991; two brothers, P. Anthony LaGatta and G. Edward LaGatta; and four sisters, Josephine Tosti, Carmella Bush, Louise Link and Rae Clements. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to World Vision.
