Dominick J. DeAngelo Jr. Dominick "Jr." J. DeAngelo, II, 80, of Rome, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rome, N.Y. on June 24, 1930, son of the late Dominick J. Sr. and Connie Maio DeAngelo. He served with the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1956. On November 3, 1951 he married Louise Lumbrazo in St. Agatha's Church, Canastota. Mr. DeAngelo retired in 1995 from Cataldo Brothers and was a former employee of American Hardwall and Plaster Company. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, American Legion, V.F.W., DAV, Ukrainian Club and Teamsters Local 182. Surviving besides his wife, Louise, are a daughter and son-in-law, LuAnn and Jim Donovan, and a son and daughter-in-law, Dominick III and Samia DeAngelo, all of Rome; five grandchildren, Kristy and Alan Occhino, Oswego, James and Christine Donovan, California, Kevin and Jackie Donovan, Rome, Dominick DeAngelo IV, New Hartford, Sal DeAngelo, Rome; and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Kathryn Raiti, Rome; a brother, Bernie DeAngelo, Lehigh Acres, Fla.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jean DeAngelo, Durhamville, Rose and Ann Lumbrazo, Canastota, John and Fern Lumbrazo, Vincent and Marion Lumbrazo, all of California, Teresa and Sam Bevacqua, Fulton; several nieces and nephews; and all of his special coffee club friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Louis DeAngelo, a sister and brother-in-law, Mickey and Al Garcia, and a sister-in-law, Ann DeAngelo. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of 2 East at Rome Memorial Hospital and Dr. Cotronea and Dr. Talladini for their care and compassion given to Dominick and his family. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Church Teen Life.
