Obituary of Maurice E. Consilio

Maurice "Mickey" E. Consilio Maurice E. Consilio, Sr., 93, of Rome, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rome, N.Y., son of the late Donato and Theresa Consilio. On November 21, 1940, he married Catherine Baptiste in St. Mary's Church, a blessed union of 67 years. She passed away November 26, 2007. Mr. Consilio retired from Revere Copper and Brass. He graduated from Rome Free Academy where he played high school football and baseball. Mickey was city tennis champion and was a member of the 1938 Rome semi-professional football team. Surviving are a daughter, Marie Palmer, Rome; two sons and a daughter- in-law, Daniel and Mary Consilio, Rochester, N.Y., Mickey Consilio, Jr., Rome; five grandchildren, Robert Mezza, Rome, Michelle Lefebre, Rochester, N.Y., Lisa Bierker, Bardonia, N.Y., Joseph Palmer, Whitesboro, and Daniel Consilio, Jr., Rochester, N.Y.; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Church Memorial Fund.
