Viola M. Trophia
Viola M. Trophia, 85, of Rome, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Rome Nursing Home. She was born in Rome, N.Y., on February 6, 1926, daughter of the late Frank and Antonetta Ferlo Trophia. Viola retired from Griffiss Air Force Base. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Gizana Trophia, Stafford, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Sam, Joe, Pat and Richard Trophia, and five sisters, Julia Buttacavoli, Rose Manfrates, Theresa Lazzara, Anna Trophia and Mary Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
