Veronica "Ronnie" H. Glasso Veronica (Ronnie) H. Glasso, of Rome, NY and Sebring, FL, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011, after a brief illness. She was born on September 17, 1947 in Rome, NY, daughter of the late Douglas and Jessie Perry Hodkinson. On May 11, 1968, she was married to William A. Glasso at St. John the Baptist Church, Ronnie worked for more than 10 years at Cornell Cooperative Extension as an administrative assistant, before retiring in 1998. Since her retirement, she and her husband have traveled each year to Sebring, FL, where they have enjoyed winters together golfing with friends and other Romans who also winter there. Ronnie was a 1965 graduate of Rome Free Academy. She was a life-long member of St. John the Baptist Church, where she taught church school for more than 30 years. She also was a Twig Volunteer at Rome Memorial Hospital for many years. Surviving, besides her husband, Bill, are two children, her daughter, Christine Glasso, Las Vegas, NV, and her son, Bill and daughter-in- law, Belen Glasso, Denver, CO. She also leaves behind her most beloved grandchildren, Carolina, Billy, Nicolas and Belen Veronica, all of Denver, CO. Surviving also are three cherished sisters, Loraine and her husband Hans Anderson, Solana Beach, CA, Donna Prevo, Tampa, FL, and Debra and her husband Tim Pettit, Munnsville, NY. In addition, she is survived by a sister-in-law, Donna and her husband Don Roberts, Oriskany, NY, a brother-in-law, Andy Glasso, Rome, NY; and by many beloved aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Ronnie will always be remembered by her family as a selfless woman of deep faith with an extraordinary love for her family. Cherished memories of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend will be etched in our hearts forever. Our family would like to thank all our relatives, friends and neighbors who have been so helpful to Ronnie and our family during this difficult time. There truly are angels among us. The family also wishes to thank the Hospice staff for their loving and patient care. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413, the CJD Foundation, Inc., P.O.
