Daniel C. Verrenti Daniel C. Verrenti, 100, a resident of Bethany Gardens, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 with his loving family by his side. He was born July 2, 1911 in Rome, NY, son of the late Nicola and Mary Valvano Verrenti. On November 21, 1936, he was united in marriage to Kathryn (Kay) V. Graziano in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Utica. She passed away August 23, 1988. Dan retired from Revere Copper and Brass, where he was employed for 40 years. Mr. Verrenti was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. He was a former umpire for baseball, and an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. Dan was also a former member of the Acme Club, Rome Country Club and was a member of Mohawk Glen Golf Course, where he had many friends, including Rosemary and Tony Falchi. An active bowler, he was a member of the American Bowling Congress. Dan loved music and dancing. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Nicholas and Donna Pearson Verrenti, Aliquippa, Pa., Philip and Diana Verrenti, Westernville; a daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and John Mody, Rome; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dan is also survived by sisters-in-law and a brother-in- law. The family would like to express a special thank you to all the staff of Bethany Gardens, especially the third and fifth floor for their care and compassion shown to Dan through the years. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Gardens Activity Fund, 800 W. Chestnut St., Rome, N.Y. 13440.
