Mary Occhipinti Mary Occhipinti, 99, of Rome, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Healthcare facility. She was born in Dunmore, PA on January 24, 1912, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Gentile Gratch. On June 30, 1928 she married Joseph M. Occhipinti in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away November 2, 1976. Mrs. Occhipinti was a member of St. Peter's Church, and former member of the Christ Child Sodality and Ladies Jolly Social Club. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph Jr. and Paulette Occhipinti, and John (Dick) Occhipinti; and a daughter, Christine Betrus, all of Rome; four grandchildren, Joseph M. Occhipinti III and wife Tammy, Jason M. Occhipinti, Deborah and her husband James Murphy, and Erin and her husband Joseph Cavallaro; four great- grandchildren, Carly McCoy, Joseph T. Cavallaro, Nicole Cavallaro, and Angelina Occhipinti. Also surviving are a sister, Jenny Cistoldi, Milfred, MA; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Angelo, Joseph, Nicholas, and Arsenio Gratch; and a sister Nancy Spinelli. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of 3 North at Rome Memorial Hospital for their loving care of Mary. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., and at St. Peter's Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, at 218 W. Court St., on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
