Paula "Nona" Versace George Paula "Nona" Versace George, 68, of Rome, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 peacefully at home. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on August 14, 1943 daughter of the late Frank and Louise Iannotti Versace. Paula was a life-long member of St. John the Baptist Church, where her faith continually guided her. She was an employee of Turning Stone Casino. Paula grew up in East Rome at the family store, East Side Grocery. She was a 1961 graduate of Rome Free Academy. Paula always had time to talk and loved to listen. She had room in her heart for everyone and would make room in her home for anyone. Paula worked hard, loved harder and cherished her role as Nona and Mom. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Shelby George, Rochester, N.Y.; two daughters, Tracy Guiliano and Jaclyn Mattacola, both of Rome; five grandchildren, Annika and Alexander Guiliano, Massimo and Nico Mattacola and Sam George. Also surviving are two brothers, Frank Versace Jr., Rochester, N.Y. and Patrick Versace, Georgia, a sister, Gina Vreeland, Georgia and several nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church. Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society National Upstate N.Y. Chapter, P.O. Box 2173, Syracuse, N.Y. 13220.
