Mary (Maria) Proia DeCristo
Mary (Maria) Proia DeCristo, 82, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rome, NY on February 10, 1930, daughter of the late Carlo and America Pacella Proia. Mary was a graduate of Rome Free Academy, class of 1948. On May 20, 1950 she married Samuel J. DeCristo in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away July 19, 2005. Mary was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Surviving are four children, Frank and Doreen DeCristo, Coral Springs, FL; Carl DeCristo; Johann DeCristo; and Robert DeCristo, all of Rome; five grandchildren, Emmeline, Brian, Jennifer, Danielle, Julianne; three great-grandchildren, Mathew, Theresa and Lucca. Also surviving are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Cataldo and Ruth Proia, Carmen and Becky Proia, all of Rome.
Services will be private. There are no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W.
Court St.
