Obituary of Yolanda M. Spaziani

Yolanda M. (Fiore) Spaziani Yolanda M. Spaziani, 91, of Rome, passed away Monday, January 12, 2009 at Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Healthcare Facility. She was born in Rome N.Y. on September 21, 1917, daughter of the late Nazzarene and Angeline Appolania Fiore. Yolanda attended Rome schools. On June 12, 1937, she married James D. Spaziani in a double wedding ceremony at St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away on April 16, 2003. Mrs. Spaziani was a former employee of the Sweetheart Shop. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathleen and Boyce Slane, Fremont, Ohio, Jeanette Spaziani Redd, Rome;and a sonJohn Spaziani, Rome. She is also survived by three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; two sisters, Dolly"Ann" Fiore Thayer, Sun Valley, Calif., Connie Fiore Malquist, Grants Pass, Ore.; a sister-in-law, Mary Spaziani Fiore, Rome; and several special nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Brenda Slane; a brother, Ferdinand "Slim" Fiore; a sister, Amelia Fiore Emma; three brothers-in-law, Salvatore Emma, Warren Thayer and Ted Malquist; and a niece, Angela Fiore Zucker. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Healthcare Facility for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:45 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc. 218 West Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Church Memorial Fund or a charity of one's choice.
