Obituary of Helen M. Giardino

Helen M.Giardino Helen M. Giardino, 79, of Rome, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009, at home. She was born in Rome, N.Y., On January 9, 1930, daughter of the late Michael and Sarah Coccagnia Neri. Helen attended Rome schools. On July 1,1955, she married Vincent A Giardino in Old Forge, N.Y. He passed away March 13, 2003. Mrs. Giardino was of the Catholic faith. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul and Theresia Giardino, Whitesboro, Carmen Giardino, Florida; a daughter, Veronica Sanchez, Utica; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Betty Grifasi, Rome, Anna Molony, Lancaster, Pa; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Mesa; a granddaughter, Sylvia Ann Curtis; a brother Dominick Neri; and a sister, Veronica Neri. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. John 's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home Inc., 218 W. Court St., on Monday from 4-7 p.m. .
