Matilda 'Tillie' A. Guglielmo Matilda A. Guglielmo, affectionately known as Tillie, 76, of Rome, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at home with her family after a long illness. She was born in Rome, NY, on September 25, 1936, daughter of the late Philip and Nellie Sabia Tardbania. On July 17, 1954, she was united in marriage to Richard J. Guglielmo in St. John the Baptist Church. Richard passed away on August 4, 1992. Tillie graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1954. She worked at Griffiss Air Force Base for over 40 years, retiring in 1995. She is survived by a son, Richard J. Guglielmo Jr., a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Frank Sperduto, a sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Glen Sexton, a brother, Philip Tardbania, all of Rome, a niece, Kimberly (Sean) Delaney, Atlanta, GA, a nephew, Philip Tardbania III, San Antonio, TX, aunts Delores Fontaine, Utica, Angie Natalie, Ohio, and Margaret Diely, Rome, and several cousins and special grandchildren, Allen Jr., Alec and Ashton. She was predeceased by a brother, Mickey Tardbania. Her family would like to thank Hospice Care, Rome Memorial Hospital and Bethany Gardens for their wonderful care and compassion. A special thanks to her brother Phil for his devotion to Tillie. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. for A Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
