Jessie K. Hodkinson , of Rome, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009 at Crouse Memorial Hospital, Syracuse. She was born on October 18, 1924 in Rome, NY, daughter of the late James and Mary LoMascolo Perry. On July 7, 1943 she was married to Douglas H. Hodkinson at St. John the Baptist Church. After 55 years of marriage, Douglas preceded her in death on March 13, 1999. Jessie had worked for 30 years at Griffiss Air force Base in the Payroll, Accounting & Finance Office, retiring in 1984. She was a life-long member of St. John the Baptist Church, a member of the AARP Rome Area Chapter #3715, the National Association of Retired Employees New York Chapter 263, Government Associated Ladies Sorority (Gals), and a member of the South Rome Senior Citizen's Center. Surviving are four daughters and two sons-in-law, Loraine Lukash, CA, Veronica and Bill Glasso, Rome, Donna Prevo, FL, Debra and Tom Pettit, Munnsville. Also surviving are grandchildren, Christine Glasso, Bill and his wife Belen Glasso, Jennifer and her husband Stephen Bein, Valerie Prevo and her fiance Kevin D'Quattro, Laura J and her husband Stephan Landmann, Karaleen Lukash and Mary Tanski; and five great grandchildren and another expected in March. Also surviving are three sisters, Josephine Rasche, CA, Stella Beaumier, ME, Vincenza Messineo, SC; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Eileen Perry, CA, Jim and Loretta Perry, Rome; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anne and Bob Tyrell, Syracuse. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Dr. William Luukash, her sister, Frances Zanko, and a brother, Sam Perry. Jessie will always be remembered by her family as a humble woman of deep faith with an extraordinary strength about her. Cherished memories of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend will be etched in our hearts forever. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 100 Lomond Court, Utica, or the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate at St. John the Baptist, Rome, or a charity of choice.
