Obituary of Peter J. Arcuri

Peter J. Arcuri , 90, of the Rome Mall Apartments, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 5, 2008 at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rome, NY on April 12, 1918 son of Salvatore and Rose Sellaio Arcuri. Pete attended Rome Schools and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Pete was a construction worker for many years. He was known as Pete the Hat to many of his friends. Although Pete never married, his family of brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews were very important to him. He is survived by his three sisters, Raffie Adamo, Antoinette Colasanti and Sarah Bernabe, all of Rome; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Thomas V. Arcuri, Anthony Scalero (WWII) and August Scalero, and a sister, Mary Arcuri. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
