Obituary of Blanche M. Genovese

Blanche M. Genovese Blanche M. Genovese, 103, of Rome, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Manhattan, NY on January 29, 1910 daughter of Emberto and Rosina Gallucci Compare. On July 19, 1928 she married John A. Genovese in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away February 18, 1976. Blanche retired in 1972 from Nelson's Department Store, from the Ready to Wear Department. She was a former employee of Joanly Shop, Sweetheart Shop, Sonne Bros. Jewelers, The Box Factory and was a Shell Ban Inspector for the Dept. of Defense. Blanche was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter Rosemary D'Amore, two sons and a daughter-in-law Joseph A. and Jean Genovese, John J. Genovese who lived with her and was her caregiver, all of Rome. She was predeceased by a daughter, Jacqueline and a son-in-law Dominick D'Amore. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Blanche was predeceased by three sisters Gilda Mazzara, Antoinette Nistico and Marie Phillips. There are no calling hours. Graveside Services will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc. 218 W.
