Mannie Feldman
Mannie Feldman, of Rome, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at Eastern Star Nursing Home. He was born in Utica, NY, son of the late Julius and Sara Sternberg Feldman. On May 7, 1955 he married Theresa D'Ambrosi in St. John the Baptist Church. She passed away February 11, 2011.
Mannie started his military career with the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War from 1946-1951, and served with the US Navy Reserve from 1965-1978. He also served with the US Army Reserve in 1978 and with the US Army during Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1991. Mannie was a former employee of Griffiss Air Force Base.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Polish Home and Rome Elks Club.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie and William Malik, Rome, Sharon and Brian Snyder, Oriskany, two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Diane Feldman, Steven and Sheila Feldman, all of Rome; grandchildren Tom Malik, Melinda Hamlin, Kevin and Rachel Feldman, Amber, Erik and Nicholas Snyder, Tyler and Kyle Feldman; five great grandchildren, Morgan, Mariah, Ella, Hayden and Dylan. Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Betty Feldman, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Joseph Mazza, Libby and Rocco Barella all of New Hartford; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Theresa and a sister Mimi Rubino.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Potluri, Two East of Rome Memorial Hospital, Am Care, and Eastern Star Nursing Home. A thank you to Iron Kettle for all of our Sunday breakfasts.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 10:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. and at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
