Barbara J. Griffith
Barbara J. Griffith, 85 a resident of Betsy Ross Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Lamphear Rd., passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 at Betsy Ross. She was born in Constableville, N.Y., on March 3, 1928 daughter of the late William and Loretta Bourgeois Ford. Barbara was a licensed practical nurse and was formally employed at Broadarces, Oneida County Home and Rome Nursing Home. She was a former member of Transfiguration Church. Barbara enjoyed oil painting, gardening, knitting and caring for house plants and dogs.
Surviving are a daughter, Lydia Fey, Rome, a son and daughter-in-law, John and Griffith, Denver, CO., a grandson, Raymond Griffith, Denver, CO; also surviving are a sister-in-law, Eleanor Ford, and nephew and niece, Carl and Anell Ford. She was predeceased by two brothers, Arnold Ford, Edward Ford and a daughter-in-law Lucy Griffith
Private Graveside Services will be held in the spring at Calvary Cemetery, Port Leyden, NY. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., Rome.
