Francis 'Chubby' Coniglio
Francis 'Chubby' P. Coniglio, 83, of Rome, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013, at Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Healthcare Facility. He was born in Rome, NY, on April 20, 1930 son of the late Philip and Josephine Lombino Coniglio. Francis graduated from Rome Free Academy. Chubby proudly served his country in the United Stastes Army from 1951 to 1953. On July 19, 1966 he married his wife, Dorothy, in Erie, PA., who passed away on December 31, 1998. Francis began his career at the age of fourteen as a stock boy at S.S. Kresgee Co. He worked his way up through the company until his retirement, as Operations Manager, from K-Mart, New Hartford, on April 26, 1992 after fifty years of service. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandra and Richard Cornish, Linda Del Pico all of Rome, Elizabeth and Jon Premo E. Greenbush, NY; nine grandchildren Richard Cornish Jr., Gina Del Pico, Aaron Cornish, Tricia Guenette, Dawn Del Pico, James Glover, twins Richard and Robert Del Pico, and Christopher Cornish; and eleven great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother Anthony Coniglio, a sister-in-law Eleanor Coniglio, an aunt, Angeline Gotti all of Rome; brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Lloyd Ruch and Leon Ruch both of Rome; Gene and Sue Ruch, Rochester, NY, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Dorothy, brothers and sisters-in-law Ross and Mary Coniglio, Joseph Coniglio, Elizabeth Coniglio and Janis Magersuppe.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Acosta, the third floor staff at Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Health Care Facility for the exceptional care given to 'Chubby'. A thank you also, to Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio, Sr. Rosaire and Sr. DePaul.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. and at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery.
