Obituary of Adrienne Joy Grago

Adrienne Joy Grago Adrienne Joy Grago, 31, of Holland Patent went home to our Lord on Friday, March 28, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Rome, NY, on April 13, 1982, the daughter of Barbara Rasha Grago and Anthony T. Grago, Jr. She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 2000. Adrienne received an Honors BA in Creative Writing and English from York University in "her city" Toronto, Ontario, in 2007. While at York University she won the prestigious writing award for short fiction, two consecutive years. Adrienne worked for Rome City School District as a substitute teacher and most recently for Fiber Instrument Sales, Oriskany. Adrienne was a brilliant, imaginative, "quirky" child who grew into an intelligent, talented, elegant young woman. Surviving are the love of her life, Christopher Miller, her parents, Barbara Grago and her companion Edward Witek, Holland Patent, Anthony and Lori Grago, Rome; a brother Justin Thomas Grago, Rome; maternal grandfather, Bernard Rasha, Lee; paternal grandfather Anthony Grago, Sr., Rome and several uncles , aunts and cousins. Special uncle and aunt, Stephen and Christine Rasha, who helped raise Adrienne, Stephanie and Jessica who are more sisters than cousins and uncle and aunt, Daniel and Marlene Rasha who gave her encouragement, strength and hope when she needed it most. Adrienne was predeceased by her twin sister, Andrea Louise, maternal grandmother, Joyce Rasha, paternal grandmother, Grace Grago and her uncle Thomas Grago. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, at 7:00 p.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., Rome. Spring burial will be held in Lee Valley Cemetery.
