Marion M. Comito, 76, of Rome, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on November 9, 1930, daughter of the late Archangelo and Maggie Seriani Ciotti. Marion married Emanuele "Coleman" J. Comito, who passed away October 13, 1994. She retired as a supervisor from Rome Developmental Center after 30 years of employment. Marion was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and was an avid bocce player, playing on three world championship teams. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law , Chris and Sharon Macknair, and a daughter, Sheila Comito, all of Rome; grandchildren, Shaun Macknair and close friend Charlene Relyea, Autumn Macknair and close friend Dalbert Cruz, and Michelle Macknair and friend, Gabriel Cruz; two sisters and brother-in-law, Olympia Carletta, Rome, Louise and William Snyder, Troy, Ill., brothers and sisters-in-law, Vince and Grace Ciotti, Gabe and Karen Ciotti, Patsy and Donna Ciotti, Anthony and Susan Ciotti, Palma Ciotti, Joanne Ciotti, all of Rome, Ruth Fraccola, California, Mary Bowles, Erie, Pa., Antoinette Comito, Erie, Pa., and Philomena Daquino, Frankfort, N.Y., a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Jane Comito, Brentwood, Tenn., and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special cousin, Angie Sweet, Rochester, N.Y. Also surviving are two uncles and an aunt, Al Giardino, and Lou and Marie Giardino, all of Rome. She also leaves special friends, Mickey Summa, Nancy Marcello, Julia Norelli, Mary Catherine Polera, Joan Fiaschetti, and Mary Kay Finnochiaro, all of Rome. She was predeceased by her husband, Coleman, a sister, Clara Montalbano, three brothers, Angelo Ciotti Sr., Felix Ciotti Sr., and Louis A. Ciotti Sr., two nephews, Felix Ciotti Jr., and Vinny Ciotti, special aunts, JoJo Giardino and Carmel Giardino, and brothers-in-law, Tony Montalbano Sr., Sal Carletta, and Bob Bowles. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:45 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 100 Lomond Court, Utica, N.Y. 13502.
