Margaret Colangelo

Margaret Colangelo, 98, of Rome, passed away Monday, March 12, 2007 at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Dunmore, Pa. on September 4, 1908, daughter of the late Domenico and Maria Summa Nigro. On February 14, 1931 she married Vito "Bill" Colangelo in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away January 26, 1973. Mrs. Colangelo retired in 1971 from General Cable, where she was employed for 42 years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.

Surviving are two grandchildren and their spouses, Michael P. Sr. and Jackie Colangelo, Christy and Roy Campanaro, and three great grandchildren, Michael P. Colangelo Jr., Paul A. Colangelo, and Brandon J. Colangelo, all of Rome; a sister, Angela Marie, Italy; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Marie Trembeth, Rome; and many special friends. She was predeceased by a son, Michael B. "Big Mike" Colangelo, two brothers, Rocco Nigro, Canio Nigro, and a sister, Mary LaRossi.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 8:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
