Anna Vincenza Cimo Mrs. Anna Vincenza Cimo, 83, of 1116 Laurel St. Rome, entered into eternal rest with her family by her side on July 9, 2007 in St. Luke's Hospital. Anna was born on April 5, 1924 in the city of Pietramelara in Naples, Italy to the late Rocco and Rose Natale Maciarello. She married Mariano L. Cimo of Rome, N.Y., in Italy, then spent the next 50 years bonded in a wonderful, loving marriage where every day was full of joy and unity and as her husband always said, "We were never more than a yard apart." Anna enjoyed her 25 years in the Rome City School District working as a school monitor. Anna has long been known for her selfless generosity and caring nature. Her contagious smile and personality affected those who knew her, and made everyone's world better. She was devoted to nurturing her family, spent countless hours in the kitchen cooking and baking, lived for holidays and having her family and friends always around her even if for just a chat with the girls over coffee. Anna will be especially remembered for her deep devotion to her religion and her patron saint, Saint Padre Pio. She is survived by her lifelong love of 50 glorious years, her husband Mariano (Mano) L. Cimo, along with two sons and daughter-in-law Anthony R. Cimo and MaryAnn Mullen Cimo of Syracuse, and Dr. James M. Cimo and Karlene A. Maltese Cimo of Marcy, N.Y. Two cherished grandchildren, Dante'-Joseph Cimo and Vincenzo Mariano Cimo. She was deeply attached to her grandchildren. For the past four years she cherished every second of her life with her grandson Dante' loving him endlessly; he was her "little pearl." One month ago, she was blessed with her second grandson, Vincenzo, promising to always watch over them. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law Frank J. and Marianna Cimo, Stephanie (Fritz) and Paul Ottavio, Joseph (Pep) and Diane Cimo, Edward Cimo, all of Rome, several nieces, nephews and cousins locally and in Italy. Also she will be especially missed by her lady friends in her neighborhood whom she spent building fond memories for over 30 years. Anna was the last of 14 brothers and sisters who predeceased her in Italy. She will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives she touched. Her family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Drs. Razia, Raees, Gesualdo, and John for their exceptional care during her courageous battle with lung cancer. They also wish to extend a special thank you to the staff of floors 2 West, Intermediate Care and the ICU at St. Luke's Hospital for their compassionate care of Anna.
