Josephine G. Mecca

Josephine G. Mecca , 86, of 113 West Linden St, Rome, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007 at Bethany Gardens. She was born in Rome, NY on March 9, 1921, daughter of the late Alflo and Anna Pugliese Grasso. On November 21, 1953, she married Joseph Jay V. Mecca in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away August 18, 1997. Josephine graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1939. She worked for many years at Griffiss Air Force Base. Josephine was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.

Survivingh are a brother, Vincent J. Grasso, Oriskany; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Anne Mecca, two sisters, Mary Salce and Lena Esposito, and a brother, Frank Grasso.

Private funeral services will be held at St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
