Obituary of Catherine A. Badolato

Catherine A. Badolato, 72, of Rome, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Health Care Facility. She was born in Bronx, NY on February 10, 1935, daughter of the late Thomas J. and Marguerite Tormey Dwyer. Catherine was raised in Morris Run, Pa. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Elmira, N.Y. On July 4, 1959, she married Samuel "Skip" J. Badolato in St. John The Baptist Church. Mrs. Badolato retired from Rome Hospital as a supervisory registered nurse. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving besides her husband, Skip, are three sons and a daughter-in-law, William and Tricia Badolato, Rome; Michael Badolato and his fiance Lynn Matt, Whitesboro; Thomas Badolato, Rome; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Steven DeHimer, Rome; Mary Ann and Timothy Lasher, Niskayuna, N.Y.; twelve grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ann and Richard Clark, and Marguerite Bombaski, all of Blossburg, Pa. Also surviving are brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Francis "Doc" and Doris Badolato, Rome; Dominick and Angie Badolato, Oneida; several nieces and nephews; and close friends, Mary Kay Capponi, Shirley Allen and Patricia Thomas. She was predeceased by a son, Sam Badolato, and twin grandchildren, Samuel and Alexandra Badolato. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St.John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Rome Memorial Hospital or the MS Society.
