William L. Kennah IV William L. Kennah, 54, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2008 after a strong and courageous battle with cancer at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born in Cortland, N.Y. on November 5, 1953, son of William J. and Margaret E. Glassford Kennah. Bill made his career with the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Staff Sergeant in 1992 having been a weapons control specialist at NEADS. He was a former employee at the Air Force Research Lab, Rome Research Site and also worked at Radio Shack. On August 13, 1993, he married Colette (Versace) Smith in Rome, N.Y. Surviving besides his wife, Colette, are his mother and step father, Margaret and Joseph Yacono, Brandon, Fla.; his mother-in-law, Nicoletta Versace, Avon Park, Fla.; two step sons, Steven Smith, Georgetown, S.C., Shawn Smith, Albuquerque, N.M.; a step daughter, Jennifer Smith, Albuquerque, N.M.; a step grandson, Evan James Smith; and aunts and several cousins. He was predeceased by his father, William J. Kennah, and his father-in-law, Salvatore Versace, Sr. The family would like to express a special thank you to the doctors and staff at Syracuse Veterans Hospital, Coram Healthcare, Syracuse, and Dr. Schicker and staff for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. Burial will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 p.m.
