Leonidas Cecilia , 83, of Kingston, NY and formerly of Rome, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in Lehigh Acres, FL. Leonidas was born in Rome, NY on January 21, 1925, a son of the late Romeo and Jennie Uvanni Cecilia. He graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1943 and earned a masters degree from SUNY in education. Leonidas served in the US Navy until April 1946 and was a veteran of World War II. On July 1, 1950, he married Kathryn George in St. John the Baptist Church. Leonidas was employed by Revere Manufacturing and retired from the N.Y.S. Department Of Corrections in September 1988.

Surviving are his wife, Kathryn; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Carl V. and Susan Cecilia, of Seabrook, TX, Paul J. Cecilia, of Hopewell Junction, NY, and Leonard D. Cecilia, of Kingston, NY; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn Cecilia-Rivera and Benjamin Rivera, of Walden, NY, Kristine Celcilia-Engh and James Engh, of Lehigh Acres, FL; four grandchildren, Paul W. Cecilia, Cosmo Cecilia, David Vandemark and Chloe Cecilia. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister-in-law, Karl A. Cecilia, Snyder, NY and Romeo and Josephine Cecilia, Rome; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday 10:15 a.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
