Jerry J. Corigliano Sr. Jerry J. Corigliano Sr., 80 of Rome passed away Saturday March 1, 2008 at home with his family by his side .He was born in Rome, NY on April 7, 1927, Son of the late Frank and Carmella DArgenio Corigliano. Jerry attended Rome schools. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. On February 11, 1950 he married Minnie Gatto in St. John the Babtist Church, a blessed union of 58 years. Mr. Corigliano retired from Griffiss Air Force Base, after 34 years of service. He was a member of St. John the Baptist church. Jerry loved watching his children and grandchildren along with playing and coaching sports. He also loved to fish, golf, and enjoyed all sports, and loved to play craps at the casino. Jerry adored his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife Minnie, are a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Jr. and Carolyn Corigliano, Rome, a daughter and son-in-law Melinda and Louis P. Ferrari Sr.,Rochester, NY; four grandchildren Sharron and her husband Mike McPheron, Rocky Corigliano, and his fianc Lindsay Welman, Louis Jr. and his wife Melissa Ferrari, Giavanna Ferrari and her fianc, Brian Rumsey. Two precious great grandchildren Michael and Mikayla McPheron.Also surviving are two sisters Josephine Cornacchia, Fla.and Carmella Alessi ,New Mexico, and several nieces and nephews .He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Carmella Corigliano, six brothers James DArgenio, Frank Corigliano, Gennaro Corigliano, John Corigliano,Louie Corigliano and Anthony Corigliano, four sisters, Filomenia Carrrado, Elizabeth Esposito, Lena Depetrocellis and Lucy DeGeorgio. Jerry was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Catherine Gatto, and a brother-in-law Angelo Gatto. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr.James OMalley, Dr. Eldridge and Dr.Tish, along with the nurses and aides at St. Lukes Hospital and Rome Hospital Rehabilitation.We also appreciate the help and support we received from Dialysis Satellite and Hospice Care. A thank you to his special friends that helped during this difficult time, Tom Parry,Gene DelNero,Bobby Ritchie, Tony Motors Magnanti. Husband,Dad,Papa,and Pop,you were always there for us,and you are our hero and always will be. You were a true warrior through the good times and the bad times. You were loving,caring and did everything for our family and you will always be in our hearts and thoughts. We will miss you and now you can rest in peace. We love you and we will watch when we drive out of a driveway,and we will make sure we eat. Love,your family:wife,children,grandchildren,and great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:15 AM form the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home Inc.,218 W. Court St.and at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care or American Kidney Fund.
