Marion Elizabeth Petronio , 84, of Oriskany, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008 at University Hospital, Syracuse.
She was born in Utica, NY on December 9, 1923, daughter of Edwin J. and Teresa Ebert Nelson.
Marion was a graduate of Faxton Hospital School of Nursing and retired from Faxton Hospital, Utica.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Joseph Dombroski, Cold Brook, NY; four grandchildren, Mark Shorey, Marion Elizabeth Shorey, Marie Ellen Coar, and Vicki Lyn Cross; five great-grandchildren, Sierra Christine, Nathaniel, Sarah, Katherine and Jonathan. Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Dorthy Nelson; two sisters, Betsy Nelson and Lois Armstrong, all of Rome; and many nieces and nephews, among them a special nephew, Jim Armstrong and her very special grand-niece and nephew, Joy and Lincoln.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Rome Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Sutliff Road, Rome (off Route 233). Memorial contributions may be made to Faxton-St. Lukes Health Care Foundation, 1676 Sunset Ave., Utica, NY 13502.
