Richard V. Pereto Richard V. Pereto , 76, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Rome Memorial Hospital . He was born in Rome, NY on February 3, 1932 a son of the late John B Sr. and Edna Davis Pereto. Dick attended Rome schools and received his high school diploma with his granddaughter Amy L. Scaton in 2002 through the military recognition program. Mr. Pereto served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. He was a self-employed. He served in the Army from 1950 to 1953. On he. at . He worked as a Self-employed drywall installer for several years. Dick was a member of the V.F.W. Rome Post #2246 and former member of H.P.Smith # 24 American Legion and the Rome Moose Club. . . Surviving are two daughters and son-in-law, Edna K. and Donald Seaton, Rome Elizabeth K. Recchio, Alabama; nine granddaughters;eight grandsons;and seven great grandsons;and his loving companion,Jean B. DeAngelo and her children, Connie and Walt Hiscox,Durhamville; Louis and wife Tammy DeAngelo, Yorkville. Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Jessica and Donald Dunn ,Camden; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, John B. Pereto Jr.,Rome Alfred and Ruby Pereto, Oneida, Ralph Pereto, Rome, Roger and Mary Pereto,Rome; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Denise Lynn Pereto, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Earl Paul and Edna Key,and three sisters-in-law, Carmella Pereto,Judy Pereto and Marilyn Pereto. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 9:00a.m. at Rome Cemetery where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc. 218 W. Court St., on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 120 Lomond Court, Utica, N.Y.13502, or the American Diabetes Association,1508 Genesee St., Utica,N.Y.13502. .
