Mary J. Scuderi Mary J. Scuderi , 80, of 6823 S. James St., passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008 at home after a breif illness. She was born in Rome, NY on October 16, 1927 a daughter of late James R. and Lena Vecchio Scuderi. Mary graduated from Rome Free Academy and received her masters degree in languages from the State University of New York at Albany. She retired from the Rome City School District as a language Teacher. Mary was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, charter member of Heritage Doll Club of Central New York, Hallmark Collectors Club of Utica,United Federation of Doll Clubs, and New York State Teachers Association. She was a former member of Mid-York Doll Club. Mary loved her family,dolls,flowers,friends,students and pet dog Prince. Surviving are a sister, Anne Scuderi, a brother and sister-in-law, JamesJay and Patti Scuderi,all of Rome. Also surviving are two aunts, Jesse Cania, Rome,Theresa Vecchio, Florida and Rome; special neice and nephew, Dr. Katrina and Craig Taylor, Oneida, who maintained constant vigil for their aunts; a cherished grand nephew,James Craig Taylor, cousins, Dr. James and wife Diane Vecchio, Vermont, Mary Ann Vacco,Syracuse, Carmen Scuderi, Rome, Charles and wife Agatha Scuderi, California,and Peter Cania, Rome. The family would like to express a special thank you to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. staff and nurses,especially Renee,and aides Joan and Shelly. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 8:15a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc,218 W. Court St. and at St. John the Baptist Church at 9:00a.m. Burial at St. Johns Cemetery There are no calling hours Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Road,New Hartford, N.Y. 13413
