Obituary of Grace R. Barbato

Grace (Bochicchio) Barbato Grace (Bochicchio) Barbato , 89, of Rome, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rome, NY on July 10, 1918, daughter of the late Francesso and Catherine Luongo Bochicchio. Grace graduated from Rome Free Academy, Class of 1937. On July 5, 1941,she was united in marriage to Michael Carmen Barbato in St. John The Baptist Church, a blessed union of 55 years. He passed away June 11, 1995. Mrs. Barbato retired in 1980 from Griffiss Air Force Base after 20 years of service where she was employed as a clerk typist. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Ava Dorfman Senior Citizens Center and N.A.R.F.E. Surviving her are her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Michael F. and Paula Barbato, Rome; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many dear cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Angeline Lupino and a brother, Rocco Bochicchio. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:45 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
