I knew Marie and her mom, Mary when I was a little girl growing up in Stanwix Heights, NY. My mother Ruth Dority was a friend of Mary. My sister Janet Dority was handicap too. They made friends and went to Girl Scouts meetings in New Hartford. My parents would pick up Marie to take her to scouts with my sister Janet. I remember them wearing the Girl Scouts uniforms with hats and all!
My parents moved to North Carolina when I was 12. They are both deceased now. Janet my sister is still alive and lives in a nursing home in High Point, NC. I am her sole keeper. She stills talks about the Girl Scouts and Father Skinner in New Hartford. The building burned down once where they had their meetings and she still talks about that fire!
Marie was a very sweet and loving person and I remember her laughing a lot. My sister brings me so much joy as I am sure that is what Marie did for her family.
I just wanted to share this story about Marie to her family.
